The Malibu Beach RV Park opened in 1976 after several years of permit approvals, a lawsuit and about eight months of construction. The park's approval was considered and ultimately approved by the County of Los Angeles and the California Coastal Commission. The process was not easy. After the County approval, a law student filed a lawsuit against the County and the property owner claiming the approval was contrary to the County's General Plan. While the property owner prevailed, the lawsuit delayed the project for about two years. The law student is now a successful attorney who now represents property owners including the current owner of the Malibu Beach RV Park.
In 1991, the community of Malibu incorporated into the City of Malibu . The Malibu Beach RV Park is the only RV Park in the City of Malibu . The current owner of the park has focused the business of the park on primarily serving visitors to Malibu rather than monthly residents. This allows the park to retain a better image and be more enjoyable to the park guests. The park operates 142 RV sites and up to 35 tent sites. All sites have either an ocean or mountain view . The park is open 365 days a year. You may call 800-622-6052 for more information or reservations. |
